Crochet pineapple racerback tank top

Crochet pineapple racerback tank top

While the racerback tank top brings a healthy and sexy look, the traditional pineapple crochet stitches add a feminine and delicate style.

It’s the type of mix-match I always love to try xD

Note: I used chainless starting dc for every first dc of each row/round instead of ch 3. There’s another good crochet technique to use is ch 2, dc into same stitch ( counted as 1st dc). In the pattern below you’ll see I simply state dc into 1st stitch for every first dc of each row/round, so choose your best technique 🙂

Special stitch used:

2dc-V stitch: ( 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc ) into same stitch or space

When repeating R2 for the first time, do I dc in the next st after the dc I just ended with or is the dc in the same st?

  2. Eliza says:

I can’t seem to get this at all.
Round 2 and 3 just don’t match each other!
I understand that it is the pineapple stitch but I am getting confused by the panel in between?
Have you accounted for this in the pattern? For example, when you say to dc in 1st stitch, do I continue to do this for the stitches in the panel part until I get to the space which was made by ch3 and skipping 3 in round 2? I seem to have many stitches before I get to the ch3 and ch6 spaces and I don’t know what to do with them..

      Hi Eliza,
Please read the in the Note section: 2dc-V stitch into next space: crochet 2dc-V stitch into the ch 2 of the 2dc-V stitch of previous round.
So from R3, you don’t have to skip sts, just follow the instruction and work into spaces.

      • Eliza says:

Thanks a million! That should teach me to read the instructions more carefully in the future! Will give it a go tonight.
I’m also noticing that it is quite a large top, would I be able to make it smaller by using a smaller size crochet hook?

  3. Syn says:

    Hi,
I’m having a problem with round 3 and was wondering if you could help?
You it says to do a 2dc-V stitch in the next space are we doing it in the CH 2 between the 2dc-V of the previous round or in the ch3 after the 2dc-V stitch

  4. Paula says:

I love the pineapple tank I am just finishing up on it but was wondering how do you steam block it? I am familiar with the blocking and that but on this do you pin it and then block it.
Thank you for sharing your pattern I am going to start another as soon as I finish this one up.

    • Maz Kwok says:

      Hi there,
You don’t have to pin your top, just lay it flat, spread it out to the correct dimensions without distorting the direction of the stitches 🙂
