Snowy Teddy and Daddy amigurumi

This crochet amigurumi pattern was made in 2012. Now I release it as a free pattern for everyone to enjoy making some cute crochet gifts this Holiday.

Materials: ( I used )
5mm crochet hook
Yarn needle
Scissors
Worsted weight yarn: red, white
Embroidery floss: red
Felt: red
Safety eyes
Fiber fill

Abbreviations

Note: This crochet snowy teddy and daddy amigurumi pattern is working in continuous rounds, mark first stitch of each round. You can use any hook size to make these crochet Snowy Teddy and Daddy amigurumi toys, just choose a yarn type that matches.

Skill level: Intermediate

Small Teddy

Head: using white yarn.
R1: magic ring, 6 sc, 6 sts
R2: inc x 6 times, 12 sts
R3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 times, 18 sts
R4: (inc, 2 sc) x 6 times, 24 sts
R5: (3 sc, inc) x 6 times, 30 sts
R6: (inc, 4 sc) x 6 times, 36 sts
R7 to 12: sc around, 36 sts
R13: (4 sc, dec) x 6 times, 30 sts
R14: (dec, 3 sc) x 6 times, 24 sts ( begin stuffing)
R15: (2 sc, dec) x 6 times, 18 sts ( fasten off)
Leave long end for sewing.
Attach safety eyes.

Muzzle: using white yarn.
R1: magic ring, 5 sc, 5 sts
R2: inc x 5 times, 10 sts
R3: (1 sc, inc) x 5 times, 15 sts
R4: sc around, 15 sts
Leave long end for sewing.
Embroider nose and mouth.
Stuff a little and attach to the head

Ears: (make 2), using white yarn.
R1: magic ring, 4 sc, 4 sts
R2: inc x 4 times, 8 sts
R3: (1 sc, inc) x 4 times, 12 sts
R4: sc around, 12 sts
R5: (1 sc, dec) x 4 times, 8 sts ( fasten off)
Leave long end for sewing.
Stuff a little and attach to top of the head.

Body: using white yarn.
R1: magic ring, 6 sc, 6 sts
R2: inc x 6 times, 12 sts
R3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 times, 18 sts
R4: (inc, 2 sc) x 6 times, 24 sts
R5: (3sc, inc) x 6 times, 30 sts
R6 to 13:  sc around, 30 sts
R14: (3 sc, dec) x 6 times, 24 sts (begin stuffing)
R15: (dec, 2 sc) x 6 times, 18 sts (fasten off)
Leave long end for sewing.
Attach to the head.

Tail: using white yarn
R1: magic ring, 6 sc, 6 sts
R2: inc x 6 times,12 sts
R3: sc around, 12 sts
R4: dec x 6 times, 6 sts (fasten off)
No need to stuff.
Leave long end for sewing.
Attach to the back of the body.

Arms: (make 2) , using white yarn
R1: magic ring, 5 sc, 5 sts
R2: inc x 5 times, 10 sts
R3: (1 sc, inc) x 5 times, 15 sts
R4 to 12: sc around, 15 sts ( begin stuffing)
R13: (1 sc, dec) x 5 times, 10 sts ( fasten off)
Leave long end for sewing.
Attach to side of the body.

Legs: (make 2), using white yarn
R1: magic ring, 5 sc, 5 sts
R2: inc x 5 times, 10 sts
R3: (1 sc, inc) x 5 times, 15 sts
R4: (inc, 2 sc) x 5 times, 20 sts
R5: (3 sc, inc) x 5 times, 25 sts
R6,7: sc around, 25 sts
R8: 5 dec, 15 sc, total 20 sts
R9 to 12: sc around, 20 sts ( begin stuffing)
R13: (2 sc, dec) x 5 times, 15 sts ( fasten off )
Leave long end for sewing.
Cut red felt to make paws
Attach to lower side of the body.

Santa hat: using white and red yarn
Start with red yarn
R1: magic ring, 4 sc, 4 sts
R2: (1 sc, inc) x 2 times, 6 sts
R3: (inc, 2sc ) x 2 times, 8 sts
R4: (3 sc, inc) x 2 times, 10 sts
R5: (inc, 4 sc) x 2 times, 12 sts
R6: (5 sc, inc) x 2 times, 14 sts
R7: (inc, 6 sc) x 2 times, 16 sts
R8: (7 sc, inc) x 2 times, 18 sts
R9: (inc, 8 sc) x 2 times, 20 sts
R10: (9 sc, inc) x 2 times, 22 sts
R11: (inc, 10 sc) x 2 times, 24 sts
R12: sc around, 24 sts
R13: change to white yarn, sc around, 24 sts
R14: sc around, 24 sts ( fasten off)
Make a little pom pom with white yarn and sew to top.

 

Big Teddy

Head: using white yarn.
R1: magic ring, 8 sc,8 sts
R2: inc x 8 times,16 sts
R3: (1 sc, inc) x 8 times, 24 sts
R4: (inc, 2 sc) x 8 times, 32 sts
R5: (3 sc, inc) x 8 times, 40 sts
R6: (inc, 4 sc) x 8 times, 48 sts
R7: (5 sc, inc) x 8 times, 56 sts
R8 to 19: sc around, 56 sts
R20: (5 sc, dec) x 8 times, 48 sts
R21: (dec, 4 sc) x 8 times, 40 sts
R22: (3 sc, dec) x 8 times, 32 sts
R23: (dec, 2 sc) x 8 times, 24 sts ( fasten off)
Leave long end for sewing.
Embroider eyes at about round 13.

R7 to 22: ( 16 rounds), sc around, 48 sts
R23: (4 sc, dec) x 8 times, 40 sts

Leave long end for sewing.
Attach to the head.

Attach to the back of the body.

R4 to 18: sc around, 21 sts (begin stuffing)
R19: (1 sc, dec) x 7 times, 14 sts (fasten off)
Leave long end for sewing.
Attach to side of the body.

Leave long end for sewing.
Cut red felt to make paws
Attach to lower side of the body.

Scarf: using red yarn
Ch 14, tr into 4th chain from hook, tr across, 10 sts
Ch 1, turn, tr across, 10 sts.
Repeat untill you reach about 16 inches in length.

    Thank you for offering this pattern for free. 🙂 I love these teddy bears and am currently making the small one as a gift. These are adorable! Just a heads up, on the small bear- round 14 for the body, the directions are off a bit. I found it should read 3sc, dec (x6) to get 24, otherwise you end up with too many stitches. 🙂
