For a naturally stylish look this Autumn, rustic-themed clothing is a perfect choice. I designed this long vest with simple crochet stitches, a big lapel, and shades of brown-cream self-striping sport-weight yarn.

Note: I used chainless starting dc for every first dc of each row/ round instead of ch 3. There’s another good crochet technique to use is ch 2, dc into the same stitch ( counted as 1st dc). In the pattern below you’ll see I simply state dc into 1st stitch for every first dc of each row/ round, so choose your best technique 🙂
Special stitch used:
2dc – V stitch: ( 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc ) into the same stitch or space.
This crochet Rustic Fall vest pattern fits size L ( chest size: 36 to 38 inches )
Skill level: Intermediate
Gauge: 8 double crochet stitches x  5 rows = approximately 2 inches ( with materials indicated )

Did you use blocking technique on this piece?
I didn’t. But it depends on the yarn type so just steam block if you need to.
Thank you for sharing. I look forward to making this for my son’s girlfriend.
This is gorgeous! Can you tell me approximately how much yarn is required for the size s/m? I know it says about 100g per skein, but how many skeins? I don’t want to order too much/little yarn. Thanks!
You will need 2 skeins 🙂
I have the perfect yarn to make this pattern. I will post a picture once I have completed it. I will be interested on what you think.
Can’t wait 😀
