This crochet clothe hat and infinity scarf set was made for charity. I picked up bulky yarn and used simple crochet stitches so it’s kind of a quick and easy crochet projects. However, I love how these turned out so I decided to share pattern here – crochet Berry swirl hat scarf set.

Materials: ( I used )
6 mm crochet hook
Bulky yarn: red ( color A – 2 skeins ) and pink ( color B – 1 skein ) ( about 250 gr for the sample – 100 gr or 109 yds per skein )

Note: I used chainless starting dc for every first dc of each row/ round instead of ch 3. There’s another good crochet technique to use is ch 2, dc into same stitch ( counted as 1st dc). In the pattern below you’ll see I simply state dc into 1st stitch for every first dc of each row/ round, so just choose your best technique 🙂
This crochet Berry Swirl hat scarf set fits adult size ( 22 inches head circumference )
Skill level: Easy
Gauge: 6 double crochet stitches x 3 rows = approximately 2 inches ( with materials indicated )
Hat:
work in rounds
Start with color A yarn
R1: form a magic ring, 12 dc into ring, sl into 1st stitch to join.
R2: inc dc x 12 times, total 24 sts, sl into 1st stitch to join.
R3: ( inc dc, dc into next st ) x 12 times, total 36 sts, sl into 1st stitch to join.
R4: ( inc dc, 2 dc across ) x 12 times, total 48 sts, sl into 1st stitch to join.
R5: ( inc dc, 3 dc across ) x 12 times, total 60 sts, sl into 1st stitch to join.
R6: ( inc dc, 4 dc across ) x 12 times, total 72 sts, sl into 1st stitch to join.
R7: *( sc, dc ) into same st, skip next st* repeat ** around, sl into 1st stitch to join.
R8: change to color B yarn, *( sc, dc ) into same st, skip next st* repeat ** around, sl into 1st stitch to join.
R9: change to color A yarn, *( sc, dc ) into same st, skip next st* repeat ** around, sl into 1st stitch to join.
Repeat ( R8 and R9 ) 2 more times untill you reach R13.
R14: dc around, total 72 sts, sl into 1st stitch to join.
R15 and R16: same as R14
R17: ( inc dc, 5 dc across ) x 12 times, total 84 sts, sl into 1st stitch to join.
R18: ( inc dc, 6 dc across ) x 12 times, total 96 sts, sl into 1st stitch to join.
R19: hdc around, total 96 sts, sl into 1st stitch to join. ( fasten off, weave in ends )
Scarf: work in rounds
Start with color A yarn
R1: ch 180, sl into 1st chain to form round, make 180 dc around, sl into 1st stitch to join.
R2: 180 dc around, sl into 1st stitch to join.
R3: same as R2
R4: *( sc, dc ) into same st, skip next st* repeat ** around, sl into 1st stitch to join.
R5: change to color B yarn, *( sc, dc ) into same st, skip next st* repeat ** around, sl into 1st stitch to join.
R6: change to color A yarn, *( sc, dc ) into same st, skip next st* repeat ** around, sl into 1st stitch to join.
Repeat ( R5 and R6 ) 2 more times untill you reach R10.
R11: 180 dc around, sl into 1st stitch to join.
R12 and R13: same as R11 ( fasten off, weave in ends )
