Crochet blue waves pouch

Materials:
5mm crochet hook
Yarn needle
Scissors
Worsted weight yarn: 4 different shades of blue (from darkest to lightest blue), white.
Ribbon

Abbreviations

Note: This crochet blue waves pouch pattern can be made using any yarn you wish. Choose a hook size that matches the yarn.

Skill level: Intermediate

Pouch:

Start with darkest blue yarn (color 1)

R1: form a magic ring or ch 2, 6 sc, 6 sts

R2: inc x 6 times, 12 sts

R3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 times, 18 sts

R4: (2 sc, inc) x 6 times, 24 sts

R5: (3 sc, inc) x 6 times, 30 sts

R6: (4 sc, inc) x 6 times, 36 sts

R7: (5 sc, inc) x 6 times, 42 sts

R8: (6 sc, inc) x 6 times, 48 sts

R9: (7 sc, inc) x 6 times, 54 sts

R10: (8 sc, inc) x 6 times, 60 sts

R11: (9sc, inc) x 6 times, 66 sts

R12 to 16 : sc around, 66 sts

R17: change to lighter blue yarn (color 2) , ch 3 (as 1st dc), skip 2 sts, crochet 5 dc shell- stitch into next st, *skip 2 sts, dc into next st, skip 2 sts, 5 dc shell- stitch into next st* repeat ** around, join with a sl.

R18: change to lighter blue yarn (color 3), ch 3 (as 1st dc), skip 2 sts, dc into next st, * skip 2 sts, 5 dc shell-stitch into next st, skip 2 sts, dc into next st* repeat ** around, ending with 4 dc into first st to complete a 5 dc shell- stitch, join with a sl.

R19: change to lighter blue yarn (color 4), ch 3 (as 1st dc), crochet 4 dc into same st to complete a 5 dc shell- stitch, * skip 2 sts, dc into next st, skip 2 sts, 5 dc shell-stitch into next 3 sts* repeat ** around, ending with 1 dc, join with a sl.

R20: change to white yarn, ch 3 (as 1st dc), skip 2 sts, dc into next st, *skip 2 sts, 5 dc shell-stitch into next st, skip 2 sts, dc into next st* repeat ** around, ending with 4 dc into first st to complete a 5 dc shell- stitch, join with a sl.

R21: change to lightest blue yarn ( color 4), ch 3 (as 1st dc), crochet 4 dc into same st to complete a 5 dc shell- stitch, * skip 2 sts, dc into next st, skip 2 sts, 5 dc shell-stitch into next st* repeat ** around, ending with 1 dc, join with a sl.

R22: change to darker blue yarn ( color 3), ch 3 (as 1st dc), 1 dc into next 2 sts, *5 dc shell-stitch into next 3 sts, 1 dc into next 3 sts* repeat ** around, ending with 4 dc into first st to complete a 5 dc shell- stitch, join with a sl.

R23: change to darker blue yarn ( color 2), ch 3 (as 1st dc), crochet 4 dc into same st to complete a 5 dc shell- stitch, *skip 2 sts, dc into next 3 sts, skip 2 sts, 5 dc shell-stitch into next sts* repeat ** around, ending with 1 dc, join with a sl.

R24: change to darkest blue yarn (color 1), ch 3 (as 1st dc), dc around, join with a sl.

R25: ch 3 (as 1st dc), dc around, join with a sl.

R26: ch 4 (as 1st tc), tc into next st, ch 2 *skip 2 sts, tc, tc, ch 2* repeat ** ‘till end, join with a sl.

R27: change to lighter blue yarn (color 2), *ch 3, 3 tc into next st, ch 3, sl into next st, 3 sc across* repeat ** around, join with a sl.

Weave in ends and finish.

Drawstring cord: use ribbon

Strap: use 2 different colors of blue yarn ( I used color 1 and 3)
Hold 2 strands together, crochet a chain of your desirable length. Attach to sides of the bag.
