Materials: ( I used )
2mm crochet hook
Cotton crochet thread: pastel pink and blue
Elastic thread
Thin ribbon
Needle
Scissors
Note: I used chainless starting dc for every first dc of each row/round instead of ch3. There’s another good crochet technique to use is ch 2, dc into same stitch ( counted as 1st dc). In the pattern below you’ll see I simply state dc for every first dc of each row/round, so just choose your best technique 🙂
Special stitch used:
V stitch: ( dc, ch1, dc ) into same stitch or space
2dc-V stitch: ( 2 dc, ch1, 2 dc ) into same stitch or space
3dc-V stitch: ( 3 dc, ch1, 3 dc ) into same stitch or space
This crochet fashion doll sun dress fits 11 to 12 inches fashion dolls.
Skill level: Intermediate
Gauge: 8 double crochet stitches x 4 rows approximately 1 inch ( with materials indicated )
Dress:
( work in rounds )
Start with color A yarn
R1: ch 35, sl into 1st ch to form round, 35 dc around, sl into 1st to join.
R2: 35 dc around, 35 sts, sl into 1st to join.
R3 to R7: same as R2
R8: change to color B yarn, 35 dc around, 35 sts, sl into 1st to join.
R9: ( 2 dc across, skip 1 st, V stitch into next st, skip 1 st ) x 7 times around, sl into 1st to join.
R10: ( 2 dc across, skip 1 st, 2dc -V stitch into next ch1-space, skip 1 st ) x 7 times around, sl into 1st to join.
R11: ( 2 dc across, skip 2 sts, 3dc -V stitch into next ch1-space, skip 2 sts ) x 7 times around, sl into 1st to join.
R12: ( 2 dc across, skip 3 sts, 3dc -V stitch into next ch1-space, skip 3 sts ) x 7 times around, sl into 1st to join.
R13 to R21: same as R12 ( fasten off, weave in ends )
Attach elastic thread around R8 ( wrong side )
Attach a strand of ribbon at R2. You’ve just finished your crochet fashion doll sun dress.
