Crochet hooded sweater

I have many requests about adding sleeves to the Women’s Hooded Vest pattern. The sleeves part for this pattern is fairly easy, it’s also a great option for Winter time.

Materials: ( I used )
3.25mm crochet hook
Light weight/ DK yarn: mohair ( 500 gr for the sample – size S&M/ 100 gr or 328 yds per skein )
Yarn needle
Scissors
Toggle buttons

Abbreviations

Special stitch used: 5dc-shell stitch ( 5 double crochet stitches into same stitch or space )

This crochet hooded sweater pattern fits size L ( chest size: 36 to 38 inches ).

Skill level: Easy

Gauge: 9 double crochet stitches x 5 rows = approximately 2 inches ( with materials indicated )

Hooded sweater:

Sleeves part: work in rounds

After seaming body lines with sc ( 35 rows from the bottom up )

Join yarn and insert hook into the place where you made the last sc of seaming body line.

R1: dc around ( 2 dc into each dc space ), total 64 sts, sl into 1st stitch to join.

R2: *5 dc across, skip 2 sts, ( dc, ch3, dc ) into next st, skip 2 sts * repeat ** 6 times around, 4 dc across, sl into 1st stitch to join.

R3: *5 dc across, 5dc-shell stitch into next ch3-space * repeat ** 6 times around, 4 dc across, sl into 1st stitch to join.

Repeat ( R2 and R3 ) alternately until you reach your desired length.

Steam block your finished project if needed. Attach buttons on.
