Time for Summer accessories! A wide-brimmed hat is a must to block UV rays. I’ve designed a ribbed crochet sun hat with lightweight-coated cotton yarn. This would be a quick and easy-to-crochet project to try xD

Materials: ( I used )
3.25 mm crochet hook
Light weight/ DK yarn: coated cotton white for the sample – 22 inches head circumference ( 100 gr or 328 yds per skein )
( Substitute yarn that you can use: raffia or waxed cotton yarn )
Yarn needle
Scissors
Ribbon
Note: I used chainless starting dc for every first dc of each row/round instead of ch 3. There’s another good crochet technique to use is ch 2, dc into same stitch ( counted as 1st dc). In the pattern below you’ll see I state dc for every first dc of each row/round, so choose your best technique 🙂
This crochet simple sun hat pattern is adult size ( 22 inches head circumference, one size fits most ). If you don’t have coated cotton, use raffia or waxed cotton yarn instead, just make sure to check the gauge.
