Crochet Peplum tank top

The flirty and flattering peplum tank top in crochet version – ribbed and lacy texture. Wear this flared top with your slim bottoms, wide-leg pants or denim shorts.

Materials: ( I used )
3.5 mm crochet hook
Light weight/ DK yarn: natural white cotton ( about 220 gr for the sample – size 2XS and XS/ 100 gr or 196 yds per skein )

Abbreviations

Note: I used chainless starting dc for every first dc of each row/ round instead of ch 3. There’s another good crochet technique to use is ch 2, dc into same stitch ( counted as 1st dc). In the pattern below you’ll see I simply state dc into 1st stitch for every first dc of each row/round, so just choose your best technique 🙂

Special stitches used:

V stitch: ( dc, ch1, dc ) into same stitch or space.

This crochet Peplum tank top pattern fits size L ( chest size 36 to 38 inches )

Skill level: Intermediate

Gauge: 10 double crochet stitches x 5 rows approximately 2 inches ( with materials indicated )


Tank top: 

Upper part: work in rounds

R1: ch 156, sl into 1st ch to form round, 156 dc around, sl into 1st stitch to join.

R2: 156 dc around, sl into 1st stitch to join.

R3: same as R2

R4: 156 bpdc around, sl into 1st stitch to join.

R5: 156 dc around, sl into 1st stitch to join.

R6: same as R5

Repeat ( from R4 to R6 ) x 5 times untill you reach R21

Lower part: work in rounds

R22: ( dc, ch1, skip 2 sts, V stitch into next st, ch1, skip 2 sts, dc into next st, ch2, skip 2 sts, dc into next st, ch2, skip 2 sts ) x 13 times around, sl into 1st stitch to join.

Back part and shoulder straps: work in rows

Back part:

R1: From the 1st ch of 156 chain (upper part of the top), sc around, 156 sts, sl into 1st st to join (fasten off, weave in end)

R2: From the 1st st of R1, skip 17 sts, make 44 dc across, turn

R3: 44 dc across, turn

R4: same as R3, turn

Shoulder straps:

R5: 8 dc across, turn

R6 to R30: same as R5 ( fasten off, leave long end for seaming )

Repeat R5 to R32 at the other side to make the other strap

Turn your top inside out, from the 1st st of R1 of the back part, skip 13 sts ( front side of the top ). Seam the straps to front side with sc.

Optional: playing with the ribbed texture xD (I used pastel blue sport weight yarn)

Simply crochet ( sc, ch 1 ) into every stitch around the ribbed lines.
