My second attempt to design a bellflower crochet pattern. This time I used cotton crochet thread for a delicate blue bell flower – a symbol of humility and gratitude.

Materials: ( I used )
2mm crochet hook
Cotton crochet thread: green, yellow, blue, and lavender
Yarn needle
Scissors
Beads ( optional )
Note: I used chainless starting dc for every first dc of each round/row instead of ch 3. There’s another good crochet technique to use is ch 2, dc into same stitch ( counted as 1st dc). In the pattern below you’ll see I simply state dc into 1st stitch for every first dc of each round/row, so just choose your best technique 🙂
Skill level: Intermediate
You can use any size of crochet hook for this crochet blue bellflower pattern, just choose a yarn type that matches.
Flower:
(using lavender/blue yarn)
R1: form a magic ring, 12 dc into ring, 12 sts, sl into first st to join.
R2: (dc, inc dc) x repeat 6 times, total 18 sts, sl into first st to join.
R3: 18 dc around, 18 sts, sl into first st to join.
R4 and R5: same as R3
R6: ( sc, dc ) into first st, ( tr, dtr, tr ) into next st, ( dc, sc ) into next st, you have just finished the first petal. *( sc, dc ) into first st, ( tr, dtr, tr ) into next st, ( dc, sc ) into next st* repeat ** 4 times. ( sc, dc ) into first st, ( tr, dtr, tr ) into next st, ( dc, sc ) into last st, sl into first st to join. ( fasten off, weave in ends )
Sepals: using green yarn
R1: form a magic ring, 12 dc into ring, 12 sts, sl into first st to join.
R2: ( ch6, sc into 2nd chain from hook, sc, sc, hdc, dc across. Skip 1 st, sl into next st from first chain ) x repeat 6 times around. ( fasten off, weave in ends )
Attach to the flower.
Stamens: ( make 3 ), using yellow yarn.
Crochet a chain of 9 ( fasten off )
Use a yarn needle to thread through the flower. ( fasten off, weave in ends )
Now you can use these flowers as crocheted embellishments or make a few unique bookmarks. ( I held 2 strands of green crochet thread, used a bigger hook, crocheted a chain and attached it to the flower, and threaded a bead at the other side )
