Beach Maxi dress

A simply pretty maxi dress made by light cotton fabric. Oceanic color stripes, a tiny halter strap, and shirred chest. Just a flowing glowing maxi dress for beach days.

Materials: ( I used )
Print cotton canvas fabric
Sewing machine
Measuring tape & ruler
Elastic thread
Elastic sewing band ( 0.5 to 1 inch )
Sewing thread & needle
Button & pin ( optional )
Tailor’s chalk
Scissors

Note: This Beach Maxi Dress pattern is done by 2 identical front and back pieces, pattern for all-size, just take your measurements and draft.

Dress length is your own choice. For a flowy maxi dress, choose light fabric, such as: cotton, spandex, silk…

Diagram: fold your fabric, remember to leave seam allowance. ( for both front and back pieces )

Sewing order:

From the wrong side:

Sew body lines.

Cut elastic band fits your natural upper chest size + 3 cm for sewing the ends. Attach elastic band around upper chest line. Here’s a neat tutorial for your reference: How to sew elastic band

Shirr elastic threads around chest part ( I made 6 lines ). Check out this step to step tutorial: Shirring Tips for beginners

Cut and sew a halter spaghetti strap. Attach to the middle of the front.

Sew hemline.

Add a little decor pin/button as you wish.
