My first design of a security blanket, made of soft cotton yarn. The blanket represents blue waves and a cute octopus with a little starfish on its head for teething.

Materials: ( I used )
2mm and 4mm crochet hooks
Lightweight/ DK yarn: blue ( color A ), turquoise ( color B ), and lavender ( color C )
Cotton thread: dark purple
Fiberfill
Yarn needle
Scissors
Note: I used chainless starting dc for every first dc of each row/ round instead of ch 3. There’s another good crochet technique to use is ch 2, dc into same stitch ( counted as 1st dc). In the pattern below you’ll see I simply state dc into 1st stitch for every first dc of each row/round, so just choose your best technique 🙂
The finished crochet oceanic lovey blanket is approximately 12 inches in diameter.
Special stitch used:
V stitch: ( dc, ch2, dc ) into same stitch or space.
2dc- V stitch: ( 2dc, ch2, 2dc ) into same stitch or space.
Skill level: Easy
Gauge: 10 double crochet stitches x 5 rows approximately 2 inches ( with 4mm crochet hook and DK yarn )
