This is my first design of a crochet poncho – a small warm layer with a cowl neck collar for cold days. I like something made with simple crochet stitches and worsted weight yarn, fitted type layer so it won’t overwhelm my small figure.

Materials: ( I used )
5mm crochet hook
Worsted weight yarn: gray color ( about 220 gr for the sample – size L / 50 gr or 218 yds per skein )

Yarn needle
Scissors
Note: I used chainless starting dc for every first dc of each row/ round instead of ch 3. There’s another good crochet technique to use is ch 2, dc into same stitch ( counted as 1st dc). In the pattern below you’ll see I simply state dc into 1st stitch for every first dc of each row/ round, so choose your best technique 🙂
Special stitches used:
V stitch: ( dc, ch1, dc ) into same stitch or space.
2dc – V stitch: ( 2dc, ch1, 2dc ) into same stitch or space.
This crochet Warm Embrace poncho pattern fits size L ( chest size: 36 to 38 inches )

Absolutely love this and can’t wait to try making it
Another great pattern to make!!! I bet I might be able to adjust it to fit my tiny 11 year old granddaughter too. She would be so thrilled to have a grown-up version, instead of the kid type. THANKS for all the fantastic patterns!!!
Hi,
This would be lovely under a coat on a cold day, a lovely idea. Thank you so much for sharing
I love this so much! It’s so simple and stylish! Great pattern.
