Let’s kick off a new year with a quick and lovely crochet project – doll clothes. This crochet fashion doll tank dress is worked by cyan color cotton crochet thread and the little pink belt as a finishing touch. The pattern is designed mainly by simple double crochet stitches. Hence, it would be a good project for your first try on doll clothes crochet.

Materials: ( I used )
2mm crochet hook
Cotton crochet thread: pink and cyan
Needle
Scissors
Note: I used chainless starting dc for every first dc of each row/round instead of ch 3. There’s another good crochet technique to use is ch 2, dc into same stitch ( counted as 1st dc). In the pattern below you’ll see I simply state dc for every first dc of each row/round, so just choose your best technique 🙂
Special stitch used:
6dc shell stitch: 6 dc into same stitch or space
This crochet fashion doll dress pattern fits 11 to 12 inches dolls.
Skill level: Intermediate
Gauge: 8 double crochet stitches x 4 rows approximately 1 inch ( with materials indicated )
Dress:
( using cyan color yarn, work in rounds )
R1: Ch 36, sl stitch in 1st ch to form round, 36 dc around, sl in 1st stitch to join.
R2: dc around, total 36 sts, sl in 1st stitch to join.
R3 to R7: same as R2.
R8: dc in first st, dc in next st, ch2, skip next 2 sts, * dc in each of next 2 sts, ch2, skip next 2 sts * repeat ** around, sl in 1st stitch to join.
R9: dc around, total 36 sts, sl in 1st stitch to join.
R10: ( inc dc, 5 dc across ) x 6 times around, total 42 sts, sl in 1st stitch to join.
R11: ( 6 dc across, inc dc ) x 6 times around, total 48 sts, sl in 1st stitch to join.
R12: ( inc dc, 7 dc across ) x 6 times around, total 54 sts, sl in 1st stitch to join.
R13: ( 8 dc across, inc dc ) x 6 times around, total 60 sts, sl in 1st stitch to join.
R14: ( inc dc, 9 dc across ) x 6 times around, total 66 sts, sl in 1st stitch to join.
R15: ( 10 dc across, inc dc ) x 6 times around, total 72 sts, sl in 1st stitch to join.
R16: ( inc dc, 11 dc across ) x 6 times around, total 78 sts, sl in 1st stitch to join.
R17: ( 12 dc across, inc dc ) x 6 times around, total 84 sts, sl in 1st stitch to join.
R18: ( inc dc, 13 dc across ) x 6 times around, total 90 sts, sl in 1st stitch to join.
R19: ( 14 dc across, inc dc ) x 6 times around, total 96 sts, sl in 1st stitch to join.
R20: ( inc dc, 15 dc across ) x 6 times around, total 102 sts, sl in 1st stitch to join.
R21: ( 16 dc across, inc dc ) x 6 times around, total 108 sts, sl in 1st stitch to join.
R22: ( inc dc, 17 dc across ) x 6 times around, total 114 sts, sl in 1st stitch to join.
R23: * sc, skip 2 sts, 6dc shell stitch in next st, skip 2 sts * repeat **around, sl in 1st stitch to join ( fasten off ).
Straps: Back to the top, work in rows
R1: from the 1st chain of R1, skip 3 ch, 3 sc across, ch1, turn.
R2: 3 sc across, ch1, turn.
R3 to R13: same as R2.
R14: 3 sc across ( fasten off ).
From the wrong side, join the strap and back side with sc or sl stitch ( fasten off ).
Repeat at other side to make the other strap.
Belt: using color pink yarn
Crochet a chain of 18 inches length, thread around R8 of the dress. Tie a bow at the front.
Weave in all ends.
