With sunny days are officially here, let’s add some bright and lively colors of Spring and Summer by crocheting a striped tank top. The simplicity of the stitches used in this pattern makes it an easy crochet garment for most crocheters.

Materials: ( I used )
3.5 mm crochet hook
Light weight/ DK yarn: cyan blue and hot pink (200 gr for the sample – size M/ 100 gr or 328 yds per skein)
Yarn needle
Scissors

Abbreviations

Note: I used chainless starting dc for every first dc of each round/row instead of ch 3. There’s another good crochet technique to use is ch 2, dc into same stitch ( counted as 1st dc). In the pattern below you’ll see I simply state dc into 1st stitch for every first dc of each round/row, so just choose your best technique 🙂

This crochet pink striped tank top pattern fits size S and M ( chest size: 30 to 34 inches )

Skill level: Intermediate

Gauge: 12 double crochet stitches x 6 rows approximately 2 inches ( with materials indicated )

Top:

(work in rounds)

Start with color A yarn,

R1: Ch 180, sl into 1st ch to form round, ( dc, ch1, skip 1 ch ) x 90 times around, sl into 1st stitch to join.

R2: ( dc, ch1, skip next ch1-space ) x 90 times around, sl into 1st stitch to join.

R3: same as R2

R4: change to color B yarn, ( sc, ch1, skip next ch1-space ) x 90 times around, sl into 1st stitch to join.

R5: change to A color yarn, ( dc, ch1, skip next ch1-space ) x 90 times around, sl into 1st stitch to join.

R6: ( dc, ch1, skip next ch1-space ) x 90 times around, sl into 1st stitch to join.

R7: same as R6

R8: change to color B yarn, ( sc, ch1, skip next ch1-space ) x 90 times around, sl into 1st to join.

Repeat from ( R5 to R8 ) x 15 more times, until you reach R64.

 

Shoulder straps: ( make 2 ) using color A yarn.

R1: from the last st of R64, skip the cluster of stitches ( sc, ch1, skip next ch1-space ) x 10 times. Insert hook into next st, ( dc, ch1, skip ch1-space ) x 3 times, dc into next st.

R2: turn, ( dc, ch1, skip ch1-space ) x 3 times, dc into last st.

R3 to R32: same as R2 ( fasten off, leave long end for seaming )

Repeat on the other side to make the other shoulder strap. Seam to the front with sc or sl. ( fasten off, weave in ends )

Back part: using color B yarn. Choose six points at the back, crochet 3 chains ( 32 ch ) across as following pictures.

Tie a knot in the middle to make a bow.
